Our Volunteers look after the footpaths that cross our land
We run events, walks and talks and produce regular newsletters and publications
The SVA was formed in 1846 to protect the landscape and amenities of the Sid Valley
We publish books on topics of local interest, sold through our Online Shop, Sidmouth Museum and local bookstores
We make grants to a wide range of local projects through the Community Grant Scheme
We own and maintain around 50 acres of land in Sid Vale for the benefit of the local community

Talk by Phil Hobbs: April 15. 'The Elphinstones of Livonia House'

Phil Hobbs is the speaker and his wife, Nicky, provides IT support. Both are retired teachers and moved to Livonia Road from Exeter 4 years ago. They became fascinated by the nearby four large houses which, in Victorian times, had their own social circle, walks, supper parties and musical evenings. They have started with Livonia House, and plan to research the other three; Lymebourne, Arcot and what was then Mount Edgar on Stanhope Drive.
