Volunteering Vacancies

Become an SVA member

The SVA is staffed totally by volunteers, who we depend on to continue our work. If you are able to spare some time and are interested in one of the following vacancies or joining one of the committees, then please contact one of the organisers on the contacts page. Examples of the ways you could help are:

Magazine Production: The SVA produces a magazine for members twice a year using Microsoft Word. Is there anybody who could help our editor? - ideally someone who has experience of editing images and laying out articles. If so please contact publicity@sidvaleassociation.org.uk

Sidmouth Museum Stewards: If you like meeting people, and are interested in what the Museum offers, then help us by becoming a Steward, helping the Museum's visitors. Alternativey, if you would prefer to help behind the scenes on stored collections and preparing exhibitions, then this role might be for you. Contact museum@sidvaleassociation.org.uk

IT and Support Systems: We have a growing range of systems, so if you are IT literate and have an interest in any of the following we would be delighted to hear from you at svawebmaster@sidmouthmuseum.co.uk :

  • Operation of Audio-Visual system at monthly talks
  • Production of posters in PowerPoint
  • Posting of new material to website
  • Production of weekly newsletter listing events and other activities
  • Managing/support of HQ and Museum systems e.g. cash register and card machines, alarm systems, remote operation of heating
  • Support of IT equipment PCs and TVs, helping other less technical users to operate them.
