The SVA Landscape Fund was an initiative begun in 1986, when it was known as the Sidmouth Landscape Fund, which raised funds enabling the purchase of land within the Sid Valley to preserve them forever from unwanted development. The benefits of this far-sighted approach we enjoy today.
Hugely successful at the time, the Fund ceased to be actively promoted after significant acquisitions of land. The last plot to be purchased was an area known as The Knapp, adjacent to Peaslands Knapp, an earlier acquisition in the middle of the town.
Information on gifting to the main SVA fund can be found under Donations and Bequests. In this way we can put your gift towards the highest priority works we have at any given time.
The SVA Landscape Fund remains a Restricted Fund within the SVA and is still benefitting from donations and bequests made over the years. If you wish to have your gift ring-fenced specifically for the acquisition and preservation of undeveloped sites within the Sid Valley, donations can be made to:
Bequests are, of course, always very welcome. Please make these in favour of the Sid Vale Association, CIO Charity No.1154749, and if you so wish, mention the SVA Landscape Fund.
