We own and maintain around 50 acres of land in Sid Vale for the benefit of the local community
We run events, walks and talks and produce regular newsletters and publications
We make grants to a wide range of local projects through the Community Grant Scheme
We publish books on topics of local interest, sold through our Online Shop, Sidmouth Museum and local bookstores
Our Volunteers look after the footpaths that cross our land
We own the volunteer run Sidmouth Museum, highly popular with tourists and townsfolk alike
The SVA was formed in 1846 to protect the landscape and amenities of the Sid Valley

I was MD of our family company, we manufactured milk for major supermarkets and distributed frozen foods to local authorities. I believe that all individuals should reach their full potential. The company gained Investors in People.

My voluntary positions included Non Executive Director and Vice Chairman of Essex Training and Enterprise Council, a National Training Awards Judge, a member of a Government FEFC Committee for Widening Participation in Further Education and a Non Executive Director of our Local Authority Enterprise Group. Following retirement and time abroad my husband and I now live in Sidmouth. I volunteered for the Museum in 2016, became Museum Curator in 2019 and SVA Chairman in 2023.
