Sidmouth Museum
Situated alongside the lych gate of the Parish church, Sidmouth Museum celebrates 240 million years of history. It offers something for everyone with an interest in the World Heritage Jurassic Coast, local history and archaeology.
Each year the Museum prepares exhibitions based on a theme. 2009 is ‘Natural Beauty’ year. Alongside these are permanent displays of fine prints, paintings and old photographs illustrating the history of Sidmouth from a fishing village, through its Regency period to the current time. A geological display describes the Jurassic coast. Link to exhibitions and displays
Young people are especially well catered for with their own area and special Activity Days. Link to young people's area
Regular guided town walks provide an opportunity of learning more about the town’s architecture, history & the World Heritage Coast. Link to museum walks.
The Museum shop offers an interesting selection of local books, prints, fossils and minerals. Link to museum shop
