Conservation and Planning Committee

Volunteers

For decades this committee has played an important role in the Conservation of Sidmouth’s heritage, both in terms buildings and countryside.  It has contributed greatly to the town and countryside which we cherish today.  We are seeking 2 or 3 persons to join a small group, who, usually working in pairs, monitor building applications submitted to the planning authority which could impact upon the conservation of our natural heritage.  Where necessary a letter may be written showing reasons for amendment or objection.  The committee acts on behalf of almost 2,500 Association members.  Special skills are not required and help will be given.  Access to the internet and e-mail preferable.  In addition, we are also seeking a Chairman for this committee.  For more details please contact the SVA Vice Chairman Revd Handel Bennett on 01395 514211.
